FHUB Students Participate in the IHL Moot Court Competition 2015

The 2015 International Humanitarian Law Moot Court Competition Indonesia National Round is a International-level of Mooting competition under the initiative of International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This year’s Indonesian National round was held in Atma jaya Catholic University in Jakarta during 22-23 October 2015. The IHL Moot court competition is one of the most prestigious mooting competition in the world. The participant of this competition is limited to only 2o outstanding universities which get exclusive invitation from ICRC to get involved in the competition, and Universitas Brawijaya is one of the participant out of 20.

The delegation comprises of 2 oralist, 1 main researcher and 4 team officials. The oralists are : Kristiyanto (2013) and M. Choirul Hidayat (2013), the main researcher is Yanuar Fahmi (2011), while the officials comprises of four students : Agatha Cristy (2012), Emilia Dewi (2012), Justin Dunton (2014) and Aditya Arifandi (2015).


Kristiyanto, one of the Brawijaya delegates explained that the competition was full of high-atmosphere of excellence, all of the participants were the best in their respective universities. Although the Brawijaya delegates was not the champion on the event, but the team explained that they got so many meaningful experience which they can utilize in the further competition.


The delegation of Universitas Brawijaya played 2 times against Universitas Internasional Batam and Universitas Tarumanegara, all the game was won by the delegate of Universitas Brawijaya. But unfortunately the point was not enough to bring Brawijaya delegates to the semifinal, however the team expresses their pride since they are able to defeat all of their opposition in the preliminary round.
